Camilo picked up two nominations for the 2026 Premios Juventud on Tuesday, adding to one of the deepest track records in the show's history as the ceremony prepares to leave the Americas for the first time.

The Colombian singer-songwriter is nominated in The Perfect Collab category for "Carteras Chinas," a track with Elena Rose and Los Ángeles Azules, and in Best Pop Song for "Si Tuviera Que Elegir," recorded with Ricardo Montaner and Evaluna. Both songs also picked up nominations at Premio Lo Nuestro earlier this year, where "Carteras Chinas" competed for Mezcla Perfecta del Año and "Si Tuviera Que Elegir" was up for Pop/Ballad Song of the Year, according to Billboard.

Camilo Extends a Deep Premios Juventud Track Record

Camilo's nominations arrive as Premios Juventud undergoes its biggest change in 23 years. The 2026 ceremony will move to Marbella, Spain, taking place at the Starlite Occident venue on the Costa del Sol on September 3, marking the first time the awards have been held outside the Americas since they launched in 2003. It follows last year's ceremony in Panama City, only the second time Univision has staged the show outside the United States.

According to the release, Camilo has been among the most nominated artists at Premios Juventud over the past five years, with at least 30 nominations to his name across that span. Voting for the 2026 nominees is open through August 10 at PremiosJuventud.com, with winners determined by public vote rather than an industry panel.

Camilo's World Tour Keeps Rolling Toward a Fifth Album

The nominations land in the middle of Camilo's "Camilo Worldwide Tour 2026-2027," which opened in Europe in June with stops in Tenerife, London, Paris, Milan, Dietikon, Berlin and Amsterdam. The tour resumes in October across the United States and South America, running through December, after a run of Mexican dates in August and September.

Camilo is working on his fifth studio album, following "cuatro," his salsa focused project that earned three Latin Grammy nominations in 2024, including Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Tropical Album and Record of the Year for "Una Vida Pasada" with Carín León. The album's Record of the Year nod stood out for pairing Camilo's vocal style with León's first foray into salsa, a pairing that GRAMMY.com described as a soulful tropical track built around two artists reflecting on former lovers.

As Univision tests a European staging for the first time, the show's push into new territory adds another marker to a year already defined by expansion, from Camilo's international tour dates to an awards ceremony now reaching for audiences well beyond its original footprint.
