This past weekend, FAME was on the ground at Cabana Miami Beach, where the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) made a bold return with a curated showcase of 24 standout brands. Held May 31 through June 2 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event spotlighted the very best of “Made in Italy” across swimwear, resortwear, accessories, and eyewear. The result? A sleek fusion of heritage, innovation, and design excellence that reminded attendees why Italian fashion continues to set the global standard.

A Curated Edit of Italian Excellence

From timeless swim silhouettes to intricate handmade jewelry, the Italian brands on display represented a wide range of regional expertise. Standouts included names like Bikini Lovers, Le Nine', Francesca Bianchi Design, and Save My Bag—each bringing its own creative spin on quality craftsmanship and refined aesthetics.

The exhibit’s layout inside Cabana felt like stepping into a Mediterranean escape, thanks to the “Italian Lounge” concept installed at the venue. It wasn’t just a booth—it was a brand experience, complete with stylish vignettes, Instagrammable backdrops, and an easy flow that made retailer discovery a breeze.

Fashion Meets Culture Meets Strategy

Beyond the fabric and flair, the event reflected a deeper initiative: to expand Italy’s fashion influence in key markets like the U.S. The numbers support the mission—Italy ranks as the top European exporter of beachwear to the U.S., and the U.S. is now the fifth largest global market for Italian swimwear. According to 2025 figures, Italy exported more than $2.1 billion in apparel to the U.S., highlighting its ongoing relevance in the American style landscape.

The Italian Trade Agency didn’t just bring brands—they brought strategy. Business meetings with U.S. buyers, collaborations with Miami-based influencers, and a fashion shoot directed by photographer Juan Pablo Castro and stylist Lina Rodriguez rounded out the activation, ensuring visibility far beyond the show floor.

Faces, Flair, and Future Trends

The lounge buzzed with a steady stream of editors, buyers, and influencers throughout the weekend. There was plenty of conversation about the redefinition of resortwear, with brands like Altamoda, Pho Firenze, and Raffaella d’Angelo pushing into bold color palettes, recycled fabrics, and hybrid silhouettes fit for both sand and street.

As one Miami buyer told us, “The Italian section always delivers something thoughtful—pieces that feel good to sell and even better to wear.”

Why It Matters

In a season where fast fashion dominates headlines, Italy’s presence at Cabana reminded us that long-term value, storytelling, and meticulous design still have their place—and power. From family-run artisans to modern rebrands, the 24 participating labels showed how Italian fashion continues to evolve without losing its core identity.
