Dogs got treats before the dinosaurs got their turn. At a Paramount Pictures event in Venice Beach, families brought their pets ahead of the theatrical release of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, and the dogs received custom treats and puppy supplies, according to the studio.
Venice Beach is not a random pick. Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, founded by Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus, opened its first storefront at 1827 Ocean Front Walk in April 2026, according to KTLA. The station reported that the brand launched nationally in 2023 and sells at retailers including Walmart and 7-Eleven. Its shop sits near Marathon Burger, a restaurant inspired by the legacy of Nipsey Hussle and founded by his brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom. NBC Los Angeles reported that Snoop Dogg and his son joined Asghedom as investors in the chain’s Long Beach location.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie gets a beachside send-off
Paramount partnered with Dr. Bombay Ice Cream and Marathon Burger for the community event, the studio said. Attendees found giveaways, interactive activities for kids, games and photo opportunities inspired by the film. A live DJ set came courtesy of 93.5 KDAY. Guests’ dogs were part of the program too.
The movie itself sends the pups to an uncharted tropical island after their ship is caught in a storm, per Paramount’s synopsis. There they meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded for years and has become an expert on dinosaurs. Their archrival, Mayor Humdinger, begins mining on the island, and a dormant volcano erupts as a result. The studio describes the rescues that follow as bigger than anything the pups have done before. The film is rated PG for mild action and peril. Cal Brunker directed it and wrote it with Bob Barlen.

Snoop Dogg links the ice cream shop to the film’s cast
Snoop Dogg appears twice in this story. He is the face of the host ice cream brand, and he is also on the film’s cast list. Paramount’s credits name him alongside Terry Crews, Jennifer Hudson, Jameela Jamil, Bill Nye, Paris Hilton, Mckenna Grace and Carter Young, with Henry Bolan introduced in the film. The studio notes that credits are not final.
This is the third film in the franchise. Movieguide reported that the first two together earned more than $350 million worldwide. The movie’s trailer also features “Bottle Up,” a new single from the Backstreet Boys, according to SuperHeroHype. The release date moved from July 24 to August 14, per Animation Magazine, citing Deadline.
For a franchise built on a preschool television series, the choice of partners says something about who the studio wants in the room. Parents who spend an afternoon at a Venice Beach ice cream shop are the ones who buy the tickets. Whether a community event moves that number is a question the event cannot answer. The opening weekend can.
