Sinego Releases First Installment of Debut Two-Part Album, ALTEREGO

On October 27th, the Colombian producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, Sinego, released the first installment ‘El Dia’ of his highly anticipated debut album, Alterego.  The goal of this record is to expand the bounds of Latin-American music by fusing the boundless potential of house, techno, and live production with the rich cultures of local Latin genres. The twenty-six original tracks on the album are split into two sections, "El Día" (The Day) and "La Noche" (The Night). The "La Noche" tracks will be included in the deluxe album, which will be released in 2024.

With samples of local sounds and traditional folk influences mixed in, Sinego's distinctive production allows Alterego to explore the rich and varied cultures of Latin America. Featuring seasoned collaborators from each of the commonly underrepresented countries—Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, and his native country of Colombia—the project takes listeners on a revolutionary trip through dance music from each country. As a result, the distinctions between dance music and regional Latin genres are blurred, creating a multidimensional aural journey that encapsulates the spirit of each nation.

When speaking about the album, Sinego states, "Alterego is a musical odyssey that delves deep into the rich tapestry of Latin American cultures through the medium of electronic music. In a manner reminiscent of Anthony Bourdain's exploration of culinary traditions, I embarked on a voyage traversing the diverse landscapes of Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, and beyond. My aim was to unravel the essence of distinctive rhythms such as Boleros, Tangos, and Mambo and craft a multifaceted auditory expedition. To achieve this musical depth, I enlisted the talents of some remarkable artists including the soulful Angélica Garcia, the genre-blending Xinobi, the mesmerizing YoSoyMatt, the enchanting Kermesse, the virtuosic Tonina, and the innovative PAUZA, among many others."

Sinego stands out in the wide world of dance music thanks to his distinctive live performances, which showcase his ability to combine electronic production with live instruments such as timbales, percussion, guitars, trumpets, synths, and vocals. He has established himself as one of the top performers of dance music with a Latin influence and has worked with many well-known musicians, including Nervo, The Knocks, SOFI TUKKER, Bomba Estéreo, and others. Only three Latin artists have been chosen to curate an official DJ mix on Spotify, Sinego was one of them. He was also hand-picked by Apple Music to serve as an official mix curator as part of his commitment to highlight important talents and cultures throughout Latin America. His "Viajero" mix series, which he hosts exclusively for Apple, is devoted to promoting Latin dance music throughout the world.

Sinego's purpose is to promote inclusivity, education, and representation in the music industry by bridging the gap between underground electronic music and regional Latin music. With the release of Alterego, the renowned musician keeps pushing boundaries and influencing dance music with a Latin influence for listeners worldwide.
