Parfums de Marly, the Maison of Haute Parfumerie inspired by the Château de Marly and the splendor of the 18th century, has introduced Les Extraits, a collection that represents the legacy of French savoir-faire beyond compare. Carios, Eragon, and Valero transmit the quintessence of French elegance in strikingly present fragrance trails, composed around the rarest, most noble notes, in original bottles that evoke the art of guilloché engraving.

This is a new chapter, a sense of excellence etched into substance, a celebration of grandeur as seen by Parfums de Marly, poised between tradition and ultra-modernity.

The Les Extraits collection embodies the soul of French luxury more than ever. With flashes of creative audacity, spanning classicism and ultimate freedom, Julien Sprecher revisits iconic families in Haute Parfumerie through a selection of exceptional raw materials enhanced by meticulously crafted olfactory architecture.

Each fragrance in Les Extraits represents a distillation of French expertise. Through their exceptional notes, perfectly balanced power, and embossed case, these fragrances revisit a luxury beyond compare. On the skin, their distinctive signatures reveal exceptional presence that lasts from morning to night.

Carios: A Sovereign Aura

Carios is a perfume tailor-made for today's leaders, an olfactory shield for the most ambitious, a trail for those who pave the way with charisma and determination. An amber fougère that elevates its heritage even as it pushes the boundaries of its genre, thanks to the clash of red mandarin and thyme, the warmth of spices, and a searing base of roasted tonka bean.

"Carios is my vision of a contemporary fougère, one of the most iconic and sophisticated families in men's perfumery, and at times considered its backbone," says Julien Sprecher, Founder and Creative Director of Parfums de Marly. "I wanted the classic structure to remain recognizable, while also nudging it toward a new intensity."

The fragrance features bergamot essence, pink peppercorn extract, red mandarin essence, and saffron accord in the top notes. Heart notes include geranium essence, red thyme essence, and black pepper essence. The base is anchored by cedar essence, ambroxan, vetiver essence, and roasted tonka bean accord.

Eragon: The Creative Source

Vibrant, radiant, and audacious, Eragon is a trail with a charismatic personality and a nod to the Sun King, Louis XIV. This spicy amber fragrance conjures an instinctive, almost inexhaustible drive. It's the olfactory talisman for men who shape their destiny like a work of art, day after day.

"Eragon was born of a desire for tension between light and depth," explains Sprecher. "I worked with patchouli, vanilla, and cinnamon in a radiant, almost incandescent style to give amber new energy. This is an Extrait as a creative manifesto, a modern symbol elevated by warmth and contrast."

The fragrance opens with bergamot essence, pink peppercorn extract, cardamom essence, and mandarin essence. The heart reveals cinnamon essence, davana essence, and cypriol essence. Base notes feature leather accord, tonka bean absolute, vanilla bean accord, and patchouli essence.

Valero: Heritage in Motion

Powerfully rooted in tradition yet reaching for the future, Valero is an intense game of contrasts. This multifaceted yet balanced woody fougère combines the strength of Bourbon geranium, the gentleness of lavender, and dynamic notes of sandalwood and ambrox. Timeless elegance, designed for heirs to the past and those who are resolutely intent on building the future.

"Valero explores the structure of a woody fougère, stoked by a desire for purity and transmission," says Sprecher. "I was looking for a simple yet extremely structured composition. This fragrance was designed to embody elegance in motion, rooted in the great classics yet turned toward the future."

Top notes include bergamot essence, cedrat essence, and juniper berry essence. Heart notes feature Bourbon geranium essence, lavender essence, cypress essence, and nutmeg essence. The base is composed of patchouli heart extract, sandalwood essence, and ambrox.

A Symbolic Showcase

For the first time, Parfums de Marly has designed exclusive bottles for this collection. The Les Extraits collection features a rounded, tapered design crafted from crystal-clear glass that reveals each scent's color and is engraved with a faceted 3D horse, a stylized version of the Maison's emblem.

Each fragrance is distinguished by a cap engraved with an exclusive motif inspired by guilloché engraving echoing an architectural feature of the Château de Marly. Carios features "Les Clous de Paris," a geometric pattern evoking the cobblestones on royal avenues leading to the royal estate. Eragon's cap displays a vibrant, radiant swirl inspired by the "Course du Soleil," an iconic fresco found on the façade of the Royal Pavilion. Valero's chevrons recall the celebrated parquet floors in the formal salons of the Château de Marly.

The eco-designed packaging is reusable and can easily serve as a jewelry box, watch case, or travel case.

Capturing Presence

The campaign for Les Extraits, shot by young French film director Guillaume Mille, juxtaposes the universe of the 18th century with Maison symbols and ultracontemporary codes. This film revisits Marly and the celebrated parties the King hosted at the royal residence for those in his innermost circle.

The campaign is an ode to a powerful aura and luxury, and to those who need no introduction because they are preceded by grandeur and illuminated by their fragrance trail.

Les Extraits will be available in a 100 ml format exclusively in Parfums de Marly boutiques and on parfums-de-marly.com from October 1, 2025. They will be available in select point of sales from November 1, 2025.
