Grupo Frontera played to a full house at Prudential Center on Friday, the latest sold out stop on a tour that has taken the band from Monterrey to Madrid this year. By the time the last song ended, the group had also picked up nine new industry certifications for their latest album.
The show fell on the band's Triste Pero Bien Cabrón Tour, which kicked off in April 2026 and has carried Grupo Frontera through the United States, Mexico, Colombia, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and other markets. The band leaned on its catalog for the Newark set, running through fan favorites including "No Capea," "Te Jalo," "COQUETA" and "UNx100TO," according to the band's team. The crowd stayed on its feet for most of the night, singing along to songs that have carried the Edinburg, Texas group from wedding gigs and small venues in 2022 to arenas across three continents in under four years.
The tour itself has become something of a victory lap. Lo Que Me Falta Por Llorar arrived at what the band described as a defining moment, following seven nominations at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including nods for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year and Duo or Group of the Year. The Orchard Marks Grupo Frontera's Latest Round of RIAA Certifications
After the set, representatives from The Orchard, the group's label partner and distributor, presented the band with a plaque backstage recognizing a new round of RIAA certifications tied to the album. According to the band's team, Lo Que Me Falta Por Llorar itself received a Gold certification, alongside Gold certifications for the tracks "Mi Droga," "Échame La Mano," "Monterrey," "LaLaLa," "Se Me Sale" and "Triste Pero Bien Cabrón," and Platinum certifications for "Tu Favorito" and "No Lo Ves." The moment came away from the stage, in what the band's camp described as a private celebration among the group and label staff rather than a public ceremony. It is the kind of milestone that tends to get buried in a tour schedule, six certifications for one album inside of a single calendar year, but it marks a fast turnaround for a project that had been out for barely ten months by the time the plaques arrived.
Grupo Frontera's Newark stop was one of dozens on a tour that continues through the fall, with the group still slated to hit stages in Europe and Latin America before the year closes out. Between the sold out arena dates and the run of certifications piling up behind them, the band's third album looks less like a transitional project and more like the one that pushed the group past the viral single phase of its early years and into the kind of sustained chart presence that outlasts a single hit.
