PAPER Magazine Launches PAPER Español with Rauw Alejandro on First Cover

PAPER Magazine just made a major move. After 40 years of covering fashion, music, and culture, the iconic publication has launched PAPER Español, a dedicated platform spotlighting Latin voices, artists, and creators. And they're kicking things off with Rauw Alejandro on the first-ever cover.

A Launch Party in West Hollywood

On November 12, PAPER celebrated the debut with an exclusive event at Sunset at EDITION in West Hollywood. Presented by Buchanan's Green Seal, the night brought together a mix of artists, tastemakers, and industry insiders to honor the creativity shaping Latin culture today.

The guest list included Herencia de Patrones, Codiciado, BIA, Victoria Justice, and Bella Poarch, among others. Music, art, and conversation filled the space, setting the tone for what PAPER Español aims to be: a platform that reflects the energy and influence of the Spanish-speaking world.

Why PAPER Español Matters Now

At a time when some media outlets are pulling back, PAPER is doubling down. According to Brian Calle, CEO of PAPER Magazine, the decision to launch PAPER Español wasn't reactive. It was intentional.

"We believe in adding to the cultural conversation, not pulling back," Calle said. "We're investing in the stories and communities that continue to shape what's next, and PAPER Español reflects our belief that Latin culture is not a trend but a driving force in global creativity."

The platform will feature monthly content drops, exclusive interviews, cultural coverage, and high-profile events designed to amplify the artists and creators redefining what it means to be Latin in today's world.

Rauw Alejandro Takes the First Cover

For the inaugural cover, PAPER chose Rauw Alejandro, one of the biggest names in Latin music right now. Known for his experimental sound and bold visual style, Rauw represents the kind of artist PAPER Español wants to center: someone who pushes boundaries and refuses to be boxed in.

The cover signals the platform's editorial vision: celebrating artists who are shaping the future of fashion, music, and art across the Spanish-speaking world, not just reflecting what's already popular.

What PAPER Español Will Cover

PAPER Español isn't just translating existing content. It's building something new. The platform will focus on representation and storytelling, giving space to emerging talent alongside established icons. Expect original features, behind-the-scenes access, and cultural commentary that connects Latin communities across borders.

The goal is to highlight the artistry, innovation, and global reach of Latin voices in a way that feels authentic and intentional, not performative.

A Legacy of Breaking Boundaries

Since 1984, PAPER Magazine has built a reputation for celebrating individuality and taking risks. From its iconic "Break the Internet" covers to its commitment to featuring both underground talent and household names, PAPER has always been about pushing culture forward.

PAPER Español continues that legacy. It's not a side project or a seasonal experiment. It's a full commitment to a community that's been driving global creativity for decades.
