Written by Hannah Bethel, David Myhre, and longtime collaborator David Norris, the song caught Annie’s attention while going through her producer’s catalog. Though she usually sticks to self-written tracks, this one struck a chord. “It truly resonated with my personal love story,” she said. “So many lines just hit all the right feels—it was impossible to pass up.”
More Than a Love Song, It’s a Real-Life Moment
Set to an upbeat country rhythm with Annie’s signature warmth, The Speed of Love plays like a summer anthem for anyone who’s ever fallen fast and hard. It’s relatable, catchy, and sentimental without trying too hard.
Annie shared that her goddaughter got engaged on the set of the music video—something that added even more meaning to the project. The video, set to release next month, will feature that real proposal moment, bringing the song’s message into a very personal and very real space.
A Career Built on Connection
Annie Vander is no newcomer to the scene. She’s previously released well-received tracks like Rock in My Shoe, The Daddy Tree, and Tonight, along with fan-favorites He Himself & Him and Falling Into Nashville, which climbed the charts and earned her a nomination at the Josie Music Awards for Female Video of the Year and Best Performance.
With over 250,000 Spotify streams and placements on platforms like Pandora’s Fresh Cuts Radio, Annie’s sound continues to resonate with country fans across the U.S.
Taking the Stage from Illinois to Nashville
To support the release, Annie is hitting the road. Upcoming stops include performances in Shelbyville, IL, the Nash Vegas Saloon in Oswego, and her hometown of Yorkville, where she still joins open mic nights. She’ll also be part of CMA Music Festival’s 615 Live event on June 5, 2025, hosted at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville.
Recent stage highlights include opening for John Michael Montgomery at Plymouth Fall Falooza and performing at Soldier Field during a Chicago Fire FC match—bringing her music to bigger crowds while still keeping it personal.
