Art Palm Beach will open its fifth edition on the same day Bruce Helander turns 80. The fair runs January 27 to 31, 2027, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, and organizers say the veteran Palm Beach collage artist will be honored with a retrospective on opening day. Producer and Executive Director Kassandra Voyagis leads the event, which brings international galleries together with modern and contemporary work for five days.

The fair belongs to a small family of shows. Voyagis also directs the LA Art Show, which The Hollywood Reporter described as the city’s longest-running independent art fair when it previewed the 2026 edition. Art Palm Beach follows that West Coast fair each winter and reached its fourth edition in 2026. Ahead of that run, Voyagis told American Fine Art Magazine she wants visitors to find “a sense of discovery that extends beyond the walls of the fair.” Organizers later called the 2026 edition record-setting for attendance and sales in their post-show release. No figures accompanied that claim. The Hollywood Reporteramericanfineartmagazine

Art Palm Beach Opens With a Bruce Helander Retrospective at 80

The retrospective is presented by Paul Fisher Gallery and sponsored by the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, according to the fair. It opens January 27, the artist’s 80th birthday.

Helander works in collage and assemblage. The Florida Artists Hall of Fame, which inducted him in 2014, says he settled in Palm Beach in 1982 and ran a Worth Avenue gallery for thirteen years before becoming a full-time artist and art critic. The fair’s release says his work appears in more than 50 museum and public collections, including the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The state profile lists the Guggenheim, the Whitney and the Metropolitan Museum of Art among his permanent collections. fl

For a fair that courts South Florida collectors, a hometown retrospective gives opening day a local anchor.

New York Galleries and Three Debuts Widen the Art Palm Beach Floor

New York dealers lead the exhibitor list, according to organizers. Hollis Taggart, Sundaram Tagore Gallery and Ethan Cohen Gallery return, and Allouche Gallery joins as a first-time exhibitor. Organizers describe an international roster spanning Europe and North America, with galleries from other regions also on the list.

Three more names arrive for the first time. Louis Stern Fine Arts of Los Angeles and Rukaj Gallery of Toronto are first-time participants. Frankfurt’s Schlieder Contemporary makes its U.S. debut at the fair.

South Florida stays well represented. The local roster includes Provident Fine Art, Rosenbaum and JF Gallery of West Palm Beach, which organizers describe as Latina- and woman-owned. Holden Luntz Gallery joins as a first-time exhibitor.

The DIVERSEartPB program also returns this year under the title The Future as a Collaborative Human Experience. Marisa Caichiolo curates it. Organizers say she previously served as a co-curator of the Official Pavilion of Chile at the 61st Venice Art Biennale.

Organizers say more announcements are coming ahead of January. What the fifth edition proves will depend on turnout and sales, numbers the fair has so far reported only in broad terms. The lineup points to a show leaning on New York dealers, South Florida roots and a hometown milestone as the Palm Beach art season takes shape.
