DoorDash just added restaurant reservations to its app, starting today in Miami on iOS. The feature lets users book tables at high-demand restaurants directly through the platform, with New York and Las Vegas coming in the next few weeks.

The move expands DoorDash beyond delivery and pickup. Now the app handles both ordering in and going out, positioning itself as a broader dining tool rather than just a delivery service.
Miami's Hottest Tables Available Now
DoorDash partnered with some of Miami's most requested restaurants to launch the feature. The initial lineup includes Ariete, Pari Pari, Casadonna, Maple & Ash Miami, Palma, Uchi Miami, and Uchiko Miami, with CASA NEOS, CLAUDIE, MILA, and Shingo coming soon.
The selection focuses on upscale dining spots, the kind of places where getting a reservation can be competitive. By adding these restaurants to the app, DoorDash is betting users want one platform for all their food needs.
Exclusive Events Only Available Through DoorDash
To mark the launch, DoorDash is offering exclusive dining experiences at select Miami restaurants that can only be booked through the app:
Uchiko, November 6, 2025: An eight-course omakase featuring the best dishes from both Uchi and Uchiko, highlighting the technique and creativity that define both concepts.
CLAUDIE, November 13, 2025: "The Art of South of France Elegance" celebrates Franco-Mediterranean roots with a menu by chef Michael Michaelidis inspired by the French Riviera.
CASA NEOS, November 20, 2025: "An Ode to Endless Mediterranean Summers" offers a menu inspired by diverse Mediterranean coastal regions, served in the restaurant's riverside setting.
MILA, December 18, 2025: "A Journey Through the Senses" combines Mediterranean flavors with Japanese precision in a MediterrAsian experience created by chef Michael Michaelidis on MILA's signature rooftop.
These events are positioned as limited-time experiences that won't be available on other reservation platforms.
Earning Credits With Every Reservation
Here's the incentive: users earn DoorDash credits each time they book and attend a reservation through the app. During the launch period, regular customers get $10 in credits per reservation, while DashPass members receive $12 after attending their meal.
The credits apply to future orders, whether that's delivery or grocery shopping through the platform. Essentially, dining out helps pay for ordering in.
DashPass members also get access to exclusive tables and experiences, plus discounted Lyft Black rides to their reservations. The membership tier creates additional perks beyond what standard users receive.
How the Booking Process Works
Making a reservation takes a few steps:
Open the DoorDash app and tap the new "Reservations" icon at the top of the home screen. Browse available restaurants by location or search for a specific spot. Filter by date, time, and party size to find what works. Review the list of restaurants that match your criteria, including cuisine type and location. Select your restaurant (DashPass members will see exclusive tables during peak times). Click "Reserve" and confirm the details. You'll get a confirmation text and email.
After your meal, the credits appear in your DoorDash account automatically.
What This Means for DoorDash Users
The reservation feature puts DoorDash in competition with platforms like OpenTable and Resy. The difference is the credit system, which creates a loop where dining out subsidizes delivery orders.
For users who already order frequently through DoorDash, the credits add value to something they were likely doing anyway: going out to eat. For restaurants, it's another channel to fill tables, particularly during slower times or for special events.
The Miami launch tests the concept before expanding to bigger markets. If it works, expect more cities and more exclusive experiences designed to keep users booking through DoorDash instead of competitors.
