When professional racecar driver Kevin Buckler decided to launch Adobe Road Winery, he brought the same precision he uses on the track to every bottle. His Racing Series collection turns California wines into collector's items, complete with carbon-fiber gift boxes and labels that actually move.
The concept is simple: each wine in the collection honors a specific racing milestone from Buckler's career. But the execution goes beyond just slapping a checkered flag on a label. These bottles feature metal tachometers with moving needles, stainless-steel shift knobs, and chronograph designs that reference the Rolex watches used to time endurance races.
The Lineup
The 66 kicks things off as a Chardonnay blend with Marsanne and Viognier. Named after Buckler's famous Porsche #66, this white celebrates his four wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona. It's a California take on white wine that goes beyond your standard Chardonnay.
REDLINE pushes the limits with six grape varieties in one bottle: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Malbec. The label features a metal tachometer with an actual moving needle, nodding to Buckler's first racing victory. This one's built for people who like their reds bold and complex.
SHIFT focuses on Zinfandel but brings in Teroldego, Syrah, and Carignane for backup. Think strawberry compote meets cocoa nibs and blueberries, with a smoky finish. Each bottle comes topped with a five-speed shift knob and a metal-gated shifter label.
Endurance and Performance
THE 24 takes its name from the legendary 24-hour races at Daytona and Le Mans. This Rhône-style blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah mimics the stamina required to race for an entire day. The metal chronograph label references those coveted Rolex Daytona watches that track every second on the course. According to the winery, crafting a good GSM blend is almost as hard as winning one of those watches.
APEX delivers on its name with a Cabernet Sauvignon blend that hits all the right notes: blackberries, plums, licorice, with hints of smoked meat and wild blueberries. The tannins land somewhere in the medium-firm range, making it approachable without losing structure.
CARBON rounds out the collection as a Petite Sirah blend named after the carbon fiber used in high-performance race cars. Black cherry, licorice, and toasted oak lead to plum and blackberry flavors, finishing with refined tannins and violet notes. The idea is strength without excess weight, just like the material itself.

Gift-Ready Packaging
Adobe Road offers these wines as single bottles or in 4-bottle and 6-bottle gift sets priced at $375 and $595. Each set arrives in a custom-designed box with foam protection, making them ready to gift straight out of shipping.
Winemaker Garrett Martin handles the technical side of bringing Buckler's racing vision into wine form. The collaboration between a professional driver and an experienced winemaker creates something different in the California wine scene.
What's Next
Adobe Road has plans for a new winery and entertainment complex in Petaluma, California, set to open in early 2026. The expansion suggests the Racing Series has found its audience among wine lovers who appreciate the crossover between automotive culture and viticulture.
For now, the wines are available through the winery's website. Whether you're shopping for someone who spends weekends at the track or just wants something more interesting than the standard wine gift, the Racing Series offers options that stand out on the shelf and in the glass.
