Juanes unveils 'Ojalá' and sets May 19th as the release date for his upcoming album 'Vida Cotidiana'

On May 19th, Juanes will release his new album "Vida Cotidiana," which continues his return to Latin American rock and folk roots fused with his more introspective composition. The album explores the realities of everyday life through the eyes of a mature and reflective Juanes, who shares his evolving perspectives on love, marriage, family, and his country.

This new creative cycle combines Juanes' return to his rock roots with electric guitar, as seen in his recent tribute album "Origen," which won both Grammy and Latin Grammy awards. Juanes has also immersed himself back into his long-praised ability as a great composer.

During the pandemic, Juanes focused on his inner self to re-examine his mature vision of life, love, family, social concerns, and more. Collaborating with his close producer and multiple Grammy award winner, Sebastián Krys, Juanes and his band recorded this new album, which marks his first entirely original studio album since "Más futuro que pasado" in 2019.

"Vida Cotidiana" features advance singles "Amores prohibidos" and "Gris," both critically acclaimed. Additionally, Juanes shares another new single and video with the release of "Ojalá," a song about a chance encounter and instant spark with a stranger.

"Ojalá" was co-written by Juanes and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Gale and featured collaboration on music from respected Argentine bassist Guillermo Vadalá. The song comes with a two-part narrative video filmed in Medellín and directed by award-winning Colombian director María Camilla Calle. The song and video are about finding a spark of attraction for another person in unexpected places and reflect a situation that all human beings find themselves in at some point in their lives.

"I wish I had met you in another time, in another life / I wish you hadn't taken so long to appear / I hope we can create memories that never fade / I hope we can break this wall, be together once, maybe twice or three times..."

"I love this song for its energy, because the story could happen to anyone and has happened throughout time. It's about when you meet someone who catches your attention, but you can't be with that person because they have their life, and you have yours. It's the most pop song of the album, has a nice energy and reflects a situation that all human beings find ourselves in at some point in our lives." - JUANES
