Dalex is taking the production out of his latest project and leaving the singer with nowhere to hide. The Puerto Rican R&B artist announced a series of intimate live sessions built around Cuarto Rojo, the project he released in February. According to the announcement, the performances remove much of the original production so the songs rest on vocals and interpretation.
The format suits a career that has moved between two lanes. He started in the duo Jayma & Dalex, then went solo in 2017. His Apple Music biography says Billboard ranked him No. 1 on its Next Big Sound chart in 2019 and credits him with five RIAA Latin Platinum singles. When Rolling Stone covered his 2021 album Unisex, it presented a singer split between R&B and dance-driven reggaeton. Cuarto Rojo, as Publimetro described it in February, is a Spanish-language R&B set of eight songs and an intro, written for late-night listening and released after he signed with Serving Sounds.
Dalex turns Cuarto Rojo into a voice-first showcase
The sessions take the Cuarto Rojo concept one step further, the announcement states, by pulling back the arrangements and letting the vocals carry each song. The release frames them as a closer look at the performer behind the records, an artist whose career has leaned on his voice and on his ability to cross between R&B and urbano.
“I want people to experience the music in a more intimate way,” Dalex said in the announcement.
He described the logic behind the change in plain terms. “Sometimes a song changes completely when you strip away the production and let it speak for itself. That’s where I feel people can get to know a more genuine version of me as an artist.”
The announcement did not say which songs are included or how the sessions will be rolled out.

Dalex pairs the sessions with a new single and a December date in Chile
The sessions arrive during a busy stretch. After a year of releases that pulled him in different musical directions, Dalex recently put out “Calendario,” a track his team says returns to the Latin R&B sensibility at the center of Cuarto Rojo. The release says he teased the song on social media for weeks before it came out.
The live calendar is filling in as well. His team says 2026 has brought a growing focus on live shows and key Latin American markets. On December 8, he is set to appear at Vibra Fest 2026 at Hipódromo Chile in Santiago. Radio Agricultura reported that the festival’s lineup runs past 30 artists, led by Anuel AA, Omar Courtz, Manuel Turizo, Kapo, Chencho Corleone and Ivy Queen, with Dalex named alongside Brytiago and Noriel. Iguana Producciones is producing the event.
The pairing is a useful one. The sessions test what his songs sound like with the production removed. The Santiago bill tests how they travel to a festival crowd that largely came for reggaeton heavyweights. Dalex has spent his career moving between R&B and urbano, and the next two months will put him at both ends of that range.
