Luminous Global kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month early with its fourth annual Light Up the Night gala at the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden in Coconut Grove this past Friday. The event, themed "The Enchanted Garden," brought together celebrities, philanthropists, and advocates for an evening centered on empowering women to prioritize their health and supporting early breast cancer detection.
Among the notable attendees were supermodel and original Real Housewives of New York star Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Florida House Representative Fabián Basabe, Claudine De Niro, and Marta and Ron Bloom. They joined other supporters in celebrating the work of the Luminous Advocacy Group and its Global Founder and CEO, Marylin Dans.
Supporting the Luminous Advocacy Project
The gala benefited the Luminous Advocacy Project, a nonprofit focused on early detection, education, and equitable healthcare access for breast cancer screening worldwide. The organization's mission is to make breast health resources available to communities that often lack access to proper screenings and care.
Guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail reception featuring signature LALO Tequila drinks, including the LALO Hibiscus Paloma and LALO Rose Margarita. The evening included live music, performances, a gourmet dinner, and powerful testimonials from breast cancer survivors who shared their stories of resilience and recovery.
Honoring Donors and Advocates
This year's ceremony recognized several key donors who have supported the cause, including Jose Dans and Heidi Dans, Norma Jean Abraham, Ana VeigaMilton, Sari Sosa, Dr. Ramona Probasco, and Julio Figueroa Cisneros. Their contributions help fund programs that promote awareness and provide resources for early detection.
The gala also honored awardees who have made significant impacts in the fight against breast cancer. Xiomara Beatriz Brandfon, Rosario Rico Toro Korn, Enrique Martinez, Jessica Cristobal, Vivian Quiroga, Frank Navarro, and Manny Lara were all recognized for their dedication to the cause.
Introducing Groundbreaking Breast Health Technology
One of the highlights of the night was the showcase of Luminous, the first breast familiarity tool designed to help users monitor their breast health at home. The device uses innovative technology to illuminate soft tissue and blood flow in the breast, allowing individuals to establish a personal baseline. By tracking changes over time, users can identify potential anomalies early and seek medical advice when necessary.
Luminous is already available in the EU and UK, with plans to expand into the Middle East and the United States. The technology represents a major step forward in making breast health monitoring accessible and proactive, particularly for those who may not have regular access to traditional screening methods.
A Mission to Transform Breast Health Globally
Luminous Global's commitment to spreading hope and transforming breast health care continues to grow. By combining advocacy, education, and innovative technology, the organization is working to close gaps in healthcare access and empower people to take charge of their breast health.
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, events like Light Up the Night remind us of the importance of early detection and the power of community support in the fight against breast cancer.
