NEW YORK, NY | April 17, 2026 | Louis Vuitton's annual Mother's Day chocolate collection is back, and this year it comes in color. The house's pastry chef Maxime Frédéric has unveiled the 2026 range at the chocolate shop inside Le Café Louis Vuitton at 6 East 57th Street in Manhattan, with pieces available starting today.
The centerpiece is the Chocolate Egg Bag, a sculptural confection first introduced in 2025 and modeled after a bag Nicolas Ghesquière designed for Louis Vuitton's Spring-Summer 2019 runway. Ghesquière has served as Artistic Director of Women's Collections at Louis Vuitton since 2013, and his designs have consistently drawn from the house's travel heritage while pushing into more sculptural, futuristic shapes, as documented by Vogue. The decision to translate one of those silhouettes into chocolate was Frédéric's, and the result has been part of Louis Vuitton's expanding culinary program since the pastry chef joined the house.

Maxime Frédéric's Chocolate Egg Bag Gets a New Look for 2026
For this year's edition, the Chocolate Egg Bag moves away from a monochromatic presentation and into what the house describes as a colorful version. The structure is made from dark chocolate mixed with candied oranges, hazelnuts, and roasted pecans. Inside, it holds a crunchy pistachio praline and raspberry caramel filling. The combination layers textures and flavors in a way that reads more like a composed dessert than a typical gift-box chocolate. The 2026 collection also includes an assortment of heart-shaped chocolates filled with crunchy praline.
Frédéric has described his work at Louis Vuitton as rooted in what the house called "the art of detail, gourmet indulgence and the transmission of expertise." The phrase captures what has made the chocolate program distinct within the broader luxury fashion and hospitality space: pieces that tie directly to the house's design archives rather than arriving as generic seasonal offerings.

Louis Vuitton's 57th Street Location Anchors New York's Luxury Confectionery Scene
The shop sits inside one of New York's most prominent luxury retail addresses, a block from the Plaza Hotel and steps from Central Park. Le Café Louis Vuitton at the 57th Street flagship has positioned itself within the growing category of fashion houses expanding into food and beverage, a segment that has drawn attention across the industry as brands like Tiffany, Ralph Lauren, and Dior have opened cafes and restaurants in major cities. Forbes has covered this trend as luxury groups pursue deeper brand immersion beyond the retail floor.
The chocolate shop operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. No pricing was included in the house's announcement.
The 2026 Mother's Day collection is a measured move within a wider strategy Louis Vuitton has been building with Frédéric since the culinary program launched. The seasonal release ties product design directly to fashion history, which separates it from most luxury gifting in the chocolate category. Whether the Chocolate Egg Bag eventually becomes a permanent fixture, the way certain runway pieces transition to classics, remains to be seen. For now, it's a limited seasonal piece at one address in New York.
