Hosted at the iconic Mana Wynwood, over 700 attendees came together for a night filled with dazzling performances, gourmet dining, and an impressive show of philanthropy. The event raised a remarkable $1.6 million, all in support of free music education for more than 12,000 students across Miami-Dade.

Music Education Changes Student Lives

The Impact of Music Education

Since its founding in 2013, YMU has been a beacon of hope for students in Title I schools, providing access to music programs regardless of their financial background. The funds raised from the gala will directly support music education for over 12,000 students in the 2025–2026 school year, empowering them to explore their musical talents and pursue brighter futures.

“Music changes lives,” said Sammy Gonzalez Zeira, CEO & Founder of YMU. “This gala wasn’t just a celebration; it was a movement. Thanks to the community, more students will step into school with instruments in their hands and music in their hearts.”

Disco Night Lights Up Gala

A Star-Studded Evening

The evening was a true spectacle, with a Studio 54-inspired theme that transported guests back to the glamorous disco era. The event was hosted by Kunya Rowley, with special appearances from Gala Chair Kaisa Levine, actress Gabrielle Anwar, and many others. Attendees also included prominent figures like Robert Pittman, Chairman of iHeartMedia, and celebrated author Hugh Howey.

But it wasn’t just the stars that shone—YMU’s student musicians brought the crowd to their feet with stellar performances, including renditions of classic hits like Let’s Groove Tonight and Forget Me Nots. The night culminated in a high-energy drumline finale that left the room buzzing with excitement.

Supporting the Future of Music

The gala was more than just a fundraising event; it was a celebration of the students’ growth and achievements. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and other local officials presented plaques to graduating students during the YMU Graduation Ceremony, a moment that highlighted the real impact of the evening.

A Powerful Statement of Giving Back

YMU’s mission continues to resonate with a wide community of philanthropists, leaders, and artists. The $1.6 million raised will go a long way in providing music education programs, from jazz ensembles to drumlines, in over 65 schools across Miami-Dade. The organization believes that every student deserves a chance to succeed, and music is a powerful tool for personal and academic growth.

The night wasn't just about the music—it was about a shared belief in creating opportunities for young minds to thrive.
