Pause Studio Expands to Brickell After Coral Gables Debut

Pause Studio's Brickell studio now fills up most weekday evenings, according to the brand, the same pattern that played out at its Coral Gables location after it opened in August 2025. Two locations in under a year says something about where Miami's wellness spending is headed.

Miami has spent the past two years adding recovery studios faster than most cities can book classes for them. Centner Wellness, for one, now runs three locations across Brickell, Coral Gables and Edgewater, competing directly with Pause Studio for the same clientele. Pause Studio's Coral Gables opening marked its second South Florida location, following an earlier studio in Fort Lauderdale, and the brand has moved fast since. In February 2025, Pause partnered with Lifeforce on what the companies described as the world's first longevity wellness membership, a package pairing blood panel diagnostics with in studio recovery credits. Pause Studio's Brickell Opening Follows a Coral Gables Test Run

Pause Studio's Coral Gables location opened with nine services, including full spectrum infrared sauna, contrast therapy, float therapy, cryotherapy, compression therapy, LED light therapy and vitamin therapy. Pause Studio CEO and owner Jonathan Culp described the approach to a local news outlet as one built around detoxification, saying the treatments are "really turbo-charging your body's ability to detoxify." Culp told the outlet the Brickell location was already under construction before Coral Gables had finished its first month. Resident

Brickell is a dense test for that bet. The neighborhood already carries some of Miami's highest concentration of luxury condos and finance offices, the kind of foot traffic that makes recurring memberships viable in a way a single flagship location cannot. Pause Studio's Brickell address, at 25 SW 9th St, puts it inside walking distance of both office towers and residential high rises, a location choice that mirrors how the brand approached its Fort Lauderdale debut.

A Lifeforce Partnership Points Past Recovery Toward Diagnostics

The Lifeforce membership is where Pause Studio's ambitions extend past sauna and cold plunge sessions. Blood panels and biomarker tracking move the brand from a recovery studio into something closer to a diagnostics client, a shift several national wellness brands have made as consumers ask for data behind their recovery routines rather than just the experience of it. Pause also struck a separate partnership with Alo Moves in July 2025 to bring cold plunge programming into wellness studios nationwide, a deal that folds Pause's physical locations into a fitness app with an existing subscriber base rather than relying on walk in traffic alone. That combination, a recovery studio, a diagnostics partner and a fitness app tie in, is a more layered business model than the float tank and infrared sauna studios that opened across Miami five years ago. Whether it holds up depends on renewal rates once the introductory membership pricing common to new studio openings phases out.

Miami's wellness real estate market will keep testing that question. Centner Wellness, Pause Studio and a handful of smaller operators are now competing for a customer base that has shown it will pay for recovery, but has not yet proven it will keep paying at the volume needed to support this many studios at once. Pause Studio's answer, for now, is to open more locations and bundle in more services before that ceiling gets tested.
