Colombian reggaetón artist Ryan Castro is set to bring summer vibes early with his appearance at the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival 2025. The festival, scheduled for August 28th to 30th, will host its 11th edition featuring Castro in a performance that holds deep personal meaning. Curaçao, where he spent several formative years living with his mother, played a key role in shaping his musical style.
New Album SENDÉ Connects Roots and Rhythm
Just announced alongside his festival slot is Ryan Castro’s sophomore album, SENDÉ, now available for pre-save ahead of its worldwide release on May 29th. The album draws on reggaetón, dancehall, and reggae influences, reflecting a blend that mirrors Castro’s time on the island. A trailer shot in Curaçao highlights the connection, with Castro speaking in Papiamento, the island’s native language, underscoring the project’s intimate link to his experience of reconnection and self-discovery.
A Performance That Comes Full Circle
Ryan Castro’s upcoming festival show marks a full-circle moment. Living in Curaçao before his rise to fame allowed him to dive into Caribbean sounds that now flow through SENDÉ. This return brings not only his music but also a tribute to the island that helped shape the artist he is today.
