The long-awaited debut single “Casti” from artist and producer, Taiko, has finally been released. The track features fellow artist Ak4:20 and is accompanied by an official music video. Fans can stream “Casti” on all major platforms.
With “Casti,” Taiko showcases his unique style, blending eerie melodies with classic reggaeton beats. The song reflects Taiko’s exceptional ability to create music that embodies his personal style, and the production highlights the artist’s growth as he experiments with bolder, more assertive sounds. The music video for “Casti,” directed by ILMATO and produced by Error De Moda, depicts Taiko and Ak4:20 surrounded by models as they prepare to take to the runway.
“I’m very eager for everyone to listen to what I’ve been working on and I’m very happy with the results of the first song off of my project. We created this song on the same day as ‘Malibu’ and it brings a touch of that nostalgic old school Reggaeton. I was inspired by a lot of songs I listened to as a kid and Aka understood the track perfectly and killed it!”– Taiko.
Taiko, whose real name is Nicolas Jaña, began making beats at the young age of 15. In 2019, he signed with Black Koi Entertainment, the renowned record label founded by Latin Grammy award-winning producer Sky Rompiendo. Taiko quickly made a name for himself in the Latin music industry, producing hits for some of the biggest names in the business, including J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrion, and Mora.
The success of his collaborations led to Taiko’s first release under Black Koi Entertainment, “Easy,” a collaboration with Jhayco that was later remixed with Ozuna. Taiko then produced Paloma Mami’s “Mami” for her debut album, Sueños de Dali, and joined J Balvin for “Rojo” from his critically acclaimed Colores album, which earned Taiko his first Latin Grammy nomination. In 2021, Taiko once again teamed up with J Balvin for the hit “Tu Veneno,” which reached #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart.
Taiko’s fifth studio album, JOSE, features a number of hits, including “La Venganza” featuring Jhayco, “Billetes de 100” with Myke Towers, and “Vestido.” The release of his first collaboration with Splice titled “Taiko Essentials” further solidified Taiko’s position as one of the most exciting new producers in the Latin music industry. Taiko recently released “Infraganti,” his first collaboration with Sael, a Black Koi Entertainment labelmate, and contributed to Feid’s “Malibu” alongside Ak4:20.
Fans can look forward to more from Taiko later this year with the release of his debut EP under Black Koi Entertainment.
