Arcángel closed out one of the busiest weeks of his year with a trophy in hand. The Puerto Rican rapper won Best Urban Trap Song for "Que Sensación (Remix)," his collaboration with Jezzy, at the 2026 Premios Juventud, held Sept. 3 in Marbella, Spain, the first time the ceremony has taken place outside the Americas in its 23-year run.
Premios Juventud has grown into one of the largest youth-focused Latin awards shows on television, and this year's move to Spain drew a wide field of winners. Karol G took Album of the Year for "Tropicoqueta," and Bad Bunny was named Male Artist of the night, according to Billboard. Arcángel's win came in a trap category that also included entries from Eladio Carrión, Myke Towers and J Noa. He was additionally nominated for Best Urban Album for "La 8va Maravilla," an award that ultimately went to Young Miko for "Do Not Disturb."
Arcángel's "Que Sensación (Remix)" Outlasts a Two Year Release Window
Most trap singles fade fast. "Que Sensación (Remix)" hasn't. Since it came out, the song has landed on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Airplay chart and picked up recognition at both the Soberano Awards and Premios Tu Música Urbano, according to El Nacional. Arcángel and Jezzy have kept the song in rotation on stage through the year, performing it in Colombia and the U.S., including during Arcángel's 20th anniversary concert at Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
The award lands in the middle of a full year for the artist. His eleventh studio album, "La 8va Maravilla," came out in January and carries guest spots from Ricky Martin on "Lluvia," Daddy Yankee on "Di Amén," Grupo Firme on "Cuánto Cuesta," and Sech alongside Kapo on "Te Extraño," Arcángel told Rolling Stone ahead of the release that dropping a new project during his 20th year felt like "a full-circle moment." The record also includes two songs with his son, Austin San, a pairing Arcángel has pointed to as one of the album's more personal turns.
The La 8va Maravilla World Tour Heads to Orlando Next
Arcángel wrapped the Latin American leg of his anniversary tour with three sold out shows at Buenos Aires' Movistar Arena, part of a run that also stopped in Santiago, Chile. The tour's U.S. leg opens Oct. 9 at Orlando's Kia Center, with additional dates already booked in Miami, Atlanta and other markets through the fall.
The tour dates land alongside "GUAO," a single Arcángel released in June with producer DJ Luian, artist Hades66 and the Puerto Rican collective Los Tekis, made up of Fanta Rosario, Tommy Blanco and Vei Habache. Between the new single, the album cycle and the tour, Arcángel's catalog has stayed in heavy rotation. He currently draws more than 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify, a number that places him among the platform's most streamed Latin artists two decades into his career.
Twenty years in, Arcángel remains one of the few artists from reggaeton's early wave still landing new songs on the charts and pulling arena crowds on a world tour. The Premios Juventud win adds one line to a catalog that keeps expanding, even as a newer generation of trap and urban artists crowds the same categories he once ran without much competition.
