Aria Vega Makes Premios Juventud Debut in Marbella, Wins New Generation Female Artist

A three-song medley built entirely from Colombia's Caribbean coast opened Aria Vega's first appearance on the Premios Juventud stage, and by the night's end the singer was walking off with a trophy too.

Vega performed at Starlite Marbella as part of Premios Juventud's first edition held outside the Americas, a shift the show's organizers framed as an expansion into the European market for Latin music, according to TelevisaUnivision. The ceremony aired live on Univision, UniMás, Galavisión and ViX, alongside a lineup that included Wisin, Camilo, Ángela Aguilar and Marc Anthony. Vega, born in Barranquilla and known to fans as La Nena de Quilla, entered the night with two nominations tied to her breakout year, including the category she ultimately won.

Aria Vega's Set Moves Through Her Breakout Year

The medley opened with "TOTOTO (+4)," moved into "CULE POCO (sirena_besarico_costeña)" and closed on "CHÉVERE (premium_remix)," the single that turned Vega from a regional name into one of Colombia's most streamed artists of the year. The performance drew on what Vega calls Costeñita Core, a sound and aesthetic built around Barranquilla's coastal culture that she has developed across a string of 2025 and 2026 releases. Later in the show, Vega won the award for New Generation Female Artist, beating out a field that included Amaia, Annasofia and Emjay.

"Chévere," Vega's collaboration with fellow Colombian artist Ryan Castro, became her first number one on the Billboard Colombia Hot 100 in February, where it held the top spot for 15 weeks, according to Billboard. Vega's team has described the song as spending 14 consecutive weeks atop the chart and reaching No. 2 on Spotify Colombia, figures FAME has not independently confirmed beyond Billboard's own reporting. The track has also driven a wave of TikTok activity that Vega's team says spans more than ten countries.

Ryan Castro Collaboration Sets Up a European Run

The "Chévere" partnership with Castro has become the backbone of Vega's biggest year to date, and it's part of why the Marbella booking landed when it did. Vega told Billboard in July that working with Castro taught her about pacing a release, noting he recorded the song in a week and pushed to put it out immediately. That instinct paid off: the track was named Billboard's top Latin song of 2026 so far as of the outlet's mid-year list.

The Premios Juventud stop lands in the middle of a broader Spanish run for Vega. She is scheduled to headline Barcelona on September 5 and Madrid on September 6, dates her team has billed as sold out and her first as a solo headliner in the country. Between the award, the performance and the tour dates, the week marks the clearest signal yet that Vega's audience has moved past Colombia's borders.

A year ago, Vega was one name among a crowded field of rising Caribbean-coast artists. Her Premios Juventud win, paired with a European headlining run that didn't exist for her twelve months ago, puts her in a different category now, one other artists chasing a foothold outside Latin America's traditional markets will be watching closely.
